Automated data pipeline · updated daily

Air quality across Tunisia

Hourly particles, nitrogen dioxide and Saharan dust for 10 cities from 04 Jul 2026 to 03 Oct 2026, rebuilt every day by a pipeline: extract from the Open-Meteo API, load into DuckDB, transform in SQL, run data-quality checks, then publish.

Daily PM10 across Tunisia

Shaded bands are Saharan dust episodes. Dust lifts particle levels in every city at once, far more than any local source.

Every city, every day

Daily mean PM10, cities sorted from cleanest (top) to most polluted (bottom).

Which cities break the limit most often

Share of days above the WHO 2021 daily PM10 guideline (45 µg/m³). Tozeur, on the edge of the Sahara, peaked at 125 µg/m³ on 27 July.

The traffic signal: NO₂ drops at weekends

Nitrogen dioxide comes mostly from traffic, so it's higher on weekdays in every city. Tunis has by far the most: 7.5 µg/m³ on weekdays vs 5.7 at weekends.
